2011-2012 Season

Band Camp, August 1- August 12 (Monday-Friday), 2011
Both Color Guard and Band work hard to learn the field show for the upcoming football and field show competition season. Band camp concludes with a preview show and pool party.

Lombardi Ranch, October 15 2011, 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (9:00 AM call time)
Lombardi Ranch is a local vegetable stand in Saugus that annually provides entertainment for the community during October. The band plays music from their field show while the color guard performs. They perform several times throughout the day. There is also a bake sale.

Honor Band Concert, March 3, 2012
Hart High School Auditorium
Students from the Hart School District (both high and junior high schools) are selected to perform. Auditions for the bands are February 3rd and 4th at La Mesa Junior High School. Students are required to audition. The bands are led by guest conductors. Special rehearsal sessions are held for the selected students. Tickets for the concert are available from the honor band members for pre-sale price of $10, or may be purchased at the door for $12.

Pops Concert, March 21, 2012, 7:30 PM
Saugus High School Gymnasium
This is a musical extravaganza featuring all aspects of the Saugus Band and Color Guard. The concert band, jazz band and color guard perform. Arroyo Seco Junior High Band combines with the Saugus High band students to perform a portion of the concert.

Tour, March 22-25, 2011 Itinerary
Saugus Band & Color Guard will travel in and around San Diego on the organization’s 23rd Annual Spring Tour. Members will tour many local points of interest. Tour is optional for students. If a member does decide to participate in the annual tour, the member and his/her parent will need to attend a mandatory meeting on January 25, 2011. This tour cost can be reduced and offset with tour fundraisers.

Spring Work Day, TBA, 2012
A big thank you goes out to all the students and parents who volunteered for the Work Day on Saturday. Once again a great day made better by a great group of caring volunteers. The band room has never looked better and at the end of the day the improvements were many. To the parents that worked side by side with the students, you should be very proud of the day's accomplishments and the students should be proud of your contribution to the improvement of the program. Again, thank you all for a great day and a job well done.

Spring Concert, May 3, 2012 7:30 p.m.
Saugus High School, MPR
The Concert Band will perform a variety of music. Many Solo and Ensemble Festival participants will perform their pieces.

Banquet, May 12, 2012, Doors Open at 5:30PM - Banquet Begins at 6:00PM
Santa Clarita United Methodist Church; 26640 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Saugus, CA
An evening of dinner, awards, and a video presentation of the year's activities.

Graduation, May 23, 2012 7:00 p.m.
College of the Canyons
The band will perform music as part of the graduation ceremony. Graduating seniors do not perform.
