Sept. 10th Update
Tomorrow, September 11 is the Patriot’s Day Performance. Call Time is 5:00 p.m. in the band room. The band is wearing uniforms without shakos (no hats). The music that will be performed is Grand Old Flag, America the Beautiful. Both can be found at http://saugusband.com/911-performance/ The band will be done by 6:30 p.m.
Booster Club Meeting on Wednesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. in the band room. We are done by 8:25 p.m. Please join us as we cover important information pertaining to band and color guard.
Saturday, September 16th is a big day…three things are taking place:
First off, Family Photo Day starts at 8:00 a.m. This is special fundraiser! The pictures taken are stunning and you are able to support the band and color guard at the same time. This is open to anyone so feel free to let friends know as well. Anyone can take advantage of having their pictures taken. Second is the Bowl-a-thon fundraiser starting at 12:00 p.m. at Santa Clarita Lanes on Soledad. This is a fundraiser for each individual student and goes towards tour. It costs $10 to participate. All the money they raise goes straight into their own tour account. The Bowl-a-thon ends at 3:00 p.m.
Third is the Bolde Retirement Party at SHS. Call time and more details will be sent in the next couple of days. The party starts at 6:30 p.m. and the band will be done by 7:00 p.m.
We are in need of Prop Crew for the football game on Friday, September 22nd. If you are available, please go on to Charms to sign up. If you need help signing up, just let me know.
For those who attended the Volunteer Training Meeting, thank you! We are looking forward to an exciting marching season. If you weren’t able to attend the training but would like to volunteer, let me know and we will work out getting you trained.
SILENT AUCTIONS starting September 22nd! Items due by Friday, September 15th
We will be auctioning off baskets and donated items at the Silent Auctions at Football Games on September 22, October 13, October 20th, and November 3rd. We are asking each student to donate items for their sections’ basket. Section leaders are collecting the items. The baskets are as follows:
Color Guard: Coffee and Tea Basket
Flutes: Breakfast Bonanza Basket
Clarinets: Picnic & BBQ Basket
Trumpets: Italian Basket
Saxophones: Wrapping Paper Basket
Low Brass: Board Game Night Basket
Front Ensemble: Movie Night Basket
Drum line: Sports Basket
