September 2nd Update

 In Band Blast

If you have signed up to work the Football Game on Friday, September 8th you should have received a reminder email from Charms this morning.  Please read the information and respond back to confirm your participation.

There are a couple of open spots on Security Crew for September 8th football game.  If you are available, please sign up through Charms or let me know and I will add you to the list.

This first football game is Homecoming.  Band is to wear nice BLUE jeans, blue band polos and tennis shoes.  Color Guard will not be there for this game only.  Call time is: 5:30.  I will be distributing polos to the new students and any others that ordered an extra polo on Tuesday, September 5th starting at 2:00 p.m.

Diane Larson will still take orders for the blingy/glitter shirts until the end of school on Tuesday, September 5th.  She is also having some of the car window stickers made so she will have those to sell.  You do not need to order those ahead of time.   I will let you when those are available.

There are two things happening on Saturday, September 9.  Family Photo Day starts at 8:00 a.m. and Volunteer Training Day at 9:00 a.m.  To sign up for Family Photo Day, please follow this link to sign up for date/time.  If you are available to help James Kang with orders, please go to the volunteer Sign up on Charms.

Volunteer Training Day is mandatory for working any job you haven’t worked before.  The only exception is Plumes and Trailer Towing.  Both need to be at the training even if you’ve worked those positions before.

The Silent Auctions will take place at Football Games September 22, October 13, October 20th, and November 3rd.  We are hoping this will be a big fundraiser for band and color guard this year.  As we prepare for the silent auction, we are asking each student to donate items for their sections’ basket.    The section leaders are collecting the items.   All items are due by Friday, September 15th.  The baskets are as follows:

Color Guard:  Coffee and Tea Basket, Flutes:  Breakfast Bonanza Basket, Clarinets: Bar-b-que basket, Low Brass:  Game Night Basket, Saxophones:  Wrapping Paper Basket, Trumpets:  Italian Basket, Front Ensemble:  Movie Night Basket, Drum line:  Sports Basket.
